Junior Natalie Rovello was awarded a scholarship from the Ancient Order of Hibernians Padraig Pearse Division #1 Kansas City (AOH). Five awards were offered to Catholic youth from the Kansas City area who will attend a Catholic High School in the 2019-20 school year. Scholarship applications were scored based on background information about school, church activities, and involvement. The majority of points were achieved based on a 500-word essay on the topic of “My Favorite Irish Song.”
AOH is the largest Irish-Catholic men’s service organization in the United States and Kansas City’s Pearse Division has 130 members. The Pearse members raise money through activities like their annual Friday fish dinners during Lent at Redemptorist Parish. The group assists seminarians from the diocese and promotes Irish culture with the Irish Center and Kansas City Irish Fest.
