STA Alumnae Add Expertise in the Mayor's Office

Two accomplished STA graduates have come together in Mayor Quinton Lucas’s office, each bringing their expertise to contribute to the intricate workings of the government in Kansas City, MO.

Jane Pansing Brown (’76) began work as General Counsel for the Mayor in August of 2019. In her role, Jane helps develop action plans toward implementing policies within the city government. Prior to her current position, she worked as a Federal Prosecutor for the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and was the first woman attorney to ever serve in the position of Associate Circuit Judge in Clay County, MO. Jane said, “My creativity and the desire to write started in me during journalism class at STA.”

Morgan Said (’11) serves in Mayor Lucas’s office as Director of Communications. Among Morgan’s duties are ensuring the accuracy, effectiveness, and consistency of promoting the key mayoral priorities and messaging. She honed her communications skills in Washington, D.C., as Press Secretary for U.S. Senator Jerry Moran.
